Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas Review

I recently got the chance to try  Montagne Jeunesse Clay mask. I got this product free from Influenster in my Violet Voxbox for testing purposes.
I was unsure about this item from Montagne Jeunesse at first because I have tried their Chocolate mud mask in the past and my skin was way too sensitive for it. It made my face really red and inflamed. I decided to give the clay mask a try anyway since it is a different product. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Anyway, I received five products in my Violet Voxbox:

Montagne Jeunesse Clay mask:
I was unsure about this item from Montagne Jeunesse at first because I had tried their Chocolate mask in the past and my skin was way too sensitive for it. I decided to give the clay mask a try anyway and was pleasantly surprised! When I applied it, it gave a nice cooling, refreshing feeling to my skin. When it was removed and rinsed off, my face felt so smooth and soft.

Pink Zebra: Review and Information

I have fallen in love with a new home fragrance company!

Pink Zebra is a fairly new direct sales company with a really fun, fragrant product. They sell meltable fragranced wax that they call "sprinkles". These sprinkles are super cute and come in so many delicious fragrances that it's hard to decide which one to melt.

Lash Out Arizona: Lash Extensions Review

Are you tired of having to apply mascara everyday or using DIY at home strip lashes? If your answer was YES, eyelash extensions might be just for you! Naturally, I have short, fine eyelashes that are pretty much non-existent without mascara or falsies. That's why I was super excited when I discovered lash extensions. By now you may have heard about them; they are one of the beauty industries quickest growing trends right now.

Eyelash extensions are individual mink eyelashes that are glued, one at a time, to your natural eyelashes in order to give you longer, fuller, more gorgeous lashes. They are semi-permanent, lasting 2-4 weeks before needing to be filled. That means 2-4 weeks without having to apply mascara or mess with sticky DIY falsies! Even better, when you get up in the morning, a big part of your makeup is done already! This is amazing for busy moms who want their lashes to look long and pretty but don't have time to fuss with makeup in the morning.

Complete Salon Manicure Nail Lacquer by Sally Hansen

I am always hunting for the best beauty products for a bargain. What can I say, I love to get the most for my money! It makes me feel good to know I can look great for a fraction of what some people invest. That said, I have been hunting for the best nail polish and I think I may have found it.
I'm so sure of this, in fact, that I just purchased twenty-five bottles of it! Shhh... don't tell hubby! The polish I'm talking about is by Sally Hansen and it's called "Complete Salon Manicure".

It generally retails for $6-$8 depending where you purchase it. However, there are coupons out for it all the time AND Sally Hansen loves to keep up with changing trends in nail color so they are constantly refreshing their available colors and retailers are giving them deep clearance discounts to make room for new colors.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon manicure is supposed to be a complete manicure in one bottle. It is a base coat, nail strengthener, color, top coat, and gel shine finish all-in-one! I am often skeptical of claims like this and am still, usually, disappointed over my results. I am really rough on my nails and I'm lucky if I can make it to the next morning with my polish still intact. With Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, I can easily get two days out of the color before I even start to see any signs of wear. After that I start to see some tip wear and after about four days I start to have a bit of chipping.

I'm usually not a fan of yellows but I really like this one. The color is 420 Yellow Kitty. It did take 3 thin coats to become opaque but it is really pretty.

My favorite thing about this polish is how easy it is to apply and how quickly it dries. The brush that comes in Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes is flat and wide with a rounded tip. It makes it perfect for application with the fewest strokes and helps me keep the polish on my nail rather than on the sides of my finger or cuticles.

Color is 670 Midnight in NY

Anyway, I highly recommend Sally Hansen Complete salon Manicure and it definitely gets the Mom Turned Upside Down KISS of Approval!

Ipsy Glam Bag October 2013

Got my Ipsy bag for October! I always get so excited to try all the fun goodies I get from Ipsy. This month's theme was "The Art of Beauty".

Here is what I got in my bag:

-Zoya nail polish in Giovanna
It is a gorgeous metallic "emerald green" (according to Zoya's website) but it actually looks more on the blue side like turquoise or teal. Either way, it's pretty. I really like the formula! It is not thick so it doesn't "glob" on my nails and it dries quickly.

Chevron Nails: How To (First Try)

I have recently fallen in love with the chevron stripe trend. I really like it for nails! I decided to give it a go and try it out on my own nails. Here is the inspiration I used (from Pinterest, of course).

These nails are shiny black and matte black which I also love. I was feeling a different idea though.

I started off painting two thin coats of a black, semi-sparkley polish on my nails. I used my favorite, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Lacquer in "Midnight in NY".

How Long to Hold on to Your Beloved Makeup and When to Go Your Seperate Ways

I'm sure most of us are aware that makeup has a shelf life but do you ever wonder how long you should hang onto different cosmetics before tossing them? I'm here to help. The shelf life of cosmetics is determined by a number of factors. They include what the product is composed of (Does it contain water? Is it a liquid, powder or cream?), how it is applied (Are you using a brush, sponge, your hands, or included applicator?) and other such factors.

We can give our makeup a longer shelf life by making sure to use properly cleaned applicators (see here for how to clean your brushes) and storing cosmetics in the right conditions. Makeup should not be stored in the bathroom. Though it is sometimes the most convenient and ideal place to store it since many of us get ready in this room of the house, the changing temperatures and moisture that linger in your bathroom creates the perfect conditions for bacteria growth.

ShaveMOB Razor Review

Have you joined the MOB yet!? I recently got introduced to a new razor company called ShaveMOB. I was contacted by their PR department to sample their razor. I was a little leery to try it because I consider myself a bit of a razor snob. I only like to use Venus razors and, in my opinion, nothing else compares. I did take ShaveMOB up on their offer, though because I am always up for trying new things.

So, let's talk about ShaveMOB!

ShaveMOB is a brand new company that sells premium razors online. They are committed to selling high quality shavers for both men and women at a huge savings (up to 70%) over the other premium razors on the market. At first, I was a little unsure about this company since I had never heard of them before. I got my very generous "sample" kit in the mail that contained a razor handle and four of each type of women's razor blades that ShaveMOB offers. They have a 3-blade razor cartridge called "The Practical", a 4-blade called "The Purist", and the big guns cartridge that is a 6-blade, first of it's kind that I've seen, on the market, razor they call "The Perfectionist". Well naturally, I was completely drawn to the 6-blade razor and compelled to try it first. Wouldn't you be? Yeah, I thought so!

I waited a couple days to get some good stubble going and give this 6-blade razor a good challenge. I was thoroughly impressed with it's performance! I usually have issues with shaving around my knees. After all these years shaving I still either miss some hair, cut my knee, or spend a ridiculous amount of time trying not to do either. The design of the ShaveMob 6-blade razor bends and flexes in two ways. The entire razor head bends to get around the curves and contours to your leg. Then, the six blades are divided in half (3 and 3) where there is another joint for more flex! This extra joint made this razor a star when it came to shaving around my knees! At one point I actually thought I caught it on my knee and held my breath waiting for blood that didn't come. In addition to all the other great features, the 6-blade razor also has a nifty, flexible, rubbery, brush-like strip above the moisturizing strip that is intended to exfoliate skin to help get an even closer shave. How awesome is that?

I am totally in love with the Perfectionist!

Disney On Ice: Rockin' Ever After

Feld Entertainment Group presents: Disney on Ice  Rockin' Ever After at the Tucson Arena at Tucson Convention Center October 2013!

This is a fabulous show to see with the whole family! We seriously drove two hours to see Rockin' Ever After Thursday night. We arrived two hours early so we could pick up our tickets at will call and get something to eat.

We made the mistake of leaving the Convention Center to go get food and trying to slide back in in time to start the show. I say "mistake" because parking was a nightmare. It took us almost thirty minutes to find parking and get inside right as the show was starting. I strongly encourage you to get there at least an hour before curtain and grab food there in order to avoid the stress and headache that is  Tucson Arena parking.

Food Friday with Gorton's Seafood Review

Have you tried Gorton's Seafood products?  I just had the opportunity to be included in the Gorton's Wicked Good Seafood campaign and try some of their seafood for free. I love fish and so do the boys. I was really excited to try some fun recipes with my coupons.

This is the generous kit Gorton's sent me.

Since Bryce dislikes fish, I always cook it on nights he has to work late. I will usually just pair it with macaroni and cheese and a veggie. This time I am trying some new recipes.

I used two of my coupons to purchase fish sticks and fish fillets. We love these! They are both crispy and flavorful and our favorite brand to buy. I still have some of my coupons that I am going to use to try some new stuff. I really want to try Gorton's Lemon Herb Fish Fillets.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! In case you didn't already know. What, with all the pink ribbons and items available for purchase with the proceeds benefitting cancer research and all. ;) By now, most of us, unless living in a cave, are well AWARE. While many people are supporting awareness and purchasing pink products to show their support for breast cancer research, there are other, much more important things to be focused on this month in the name of Breast Cancer awareness.

The first, very important thing to focus on is prevention. Though, there is no sure way to prevent this horrible disease, there are things we can do to take care of our bodies and lower our risk factors.

*Get plenty of physical activity

*Limit alcohol consumption

*Breast feed your babies

*Keep your weight in check

*Avoid exposure to environmental pollution

John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour Review

I just decided a few days ago that I wanted to change my hair. Though I loved it the way it was, it was grown out so you could see my roots and after awhile it starts to look that "Dirty blonde" color which happens to be my natural hair color that I have hated ever since I was a kid. Do you think maybe that's because it was always described as "dirty" or "dishwater"? Either way, it always looks mucky and dull and I hate it. Since my best friend is the one who always does my highlights for me and she lives in California, I had to resort to boxed hair color for the time-being.

See what I mean? "Dirty Blonde" before

I have been feeling experimental and adventurous lately. Where my hair is concerned I tend to get bored quickly so it is always changing whether it be color, style, cut, etc. I spent a couple days deciding what to do.  I debated between blonde, red, dark reddish brown, or dark brown.

My first attempt was a disaster! I should know better, by now, than to do a full head blonde out of a box. I just thought, it was pretty blonde with dirty blonde so it should be fine! Wrong, I was. I ended up with brightened highlights but the rest was a color I just couldn't live with longer than 24 hours.

Back to square one I went. I finally decided I wanted to go red. When it comes to hair, I am extremely picky and I get nervous when choosing a shade because it rarely (even when going to a professional) comes out how I want it or how it is advertised. I chose to go with a hair color by John Frieda called Precision Foam Hair Colour. The color I chose, rather, my husband chose (yes, I put this serious decision in his hands. I told you I was feeling adventurous.) was number 6R Light Red Brown.

Here are the contents of the John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour box

In the box:
-Bottle with developer already added (step 1)
- hair color to add (step 2)
-Pump attachment for bottle
-Gloves (love that they're black, I don't know why)
-After color conditioner (a very generous size that will last at least a few washes)
-Detailed, color Instruction booklet

Ipsy Glam Bag September 2013

This month it seems like I waited FOREVER to receive my Glam Bag from Ipsy. They must have been toying with me because I was super anxious. Anyway, I finally got it and I'm super excited about it. This month's theme is "classic beauty" and my bag contained most of the signature items you think of for a  classic beauty look.

This is what I got for September:

This is called "lip balm" but I assure you, it does not wear like any lip balm I have ever used. It is very pigmented and wears more like a stain or a lipstick. I have seen this color on many Ipsters and it looks great so I was really looking forward to this product, especially, since I got a gel eyeliner from this company a couple months back and I absolutely love it! Unfortunately, my skin requires a red with more of a blue base so this was just way too bright on me. I will be checking for other shades though. It can be purchased online and retails for $19.00

I have not tried it out yet but I'm really excited to! The one I received in my Glam Bag is not full size. It is more like half size. My friend and I were just wondering what makes this nail polish worth the $15 it costs at Ulta. I guess Now I have the chance to find out. The LA MOSS color is kind of a blood red color that I find to be perfect for fall.

Classic Beauty Look I Created Using Products From My September IPSY Bag

I was thrilled with this month's IPSY Glam Bag theme, "Classic Beauty". My friend, Michelle is having a party Saturday to showcase Benefit Cosmetics and their "They're Real" mascara in a Lash Bash courtesy of Benefit Cosmetics and IPSY. We are also doing a House Party event the same night for some yummy (hopefully) Moscato wine from Yellow Tail. We came up with the theme of "Vintage Glam" with the idea that all the girls can dress and accessorize to go with the theme. Anyway, I'm really excited for this party and have started playing around with my look.

I will warn you that the following is just my first attempt and you have permission to chuckle, giggle, or full-out laugh. It won't hurt my feelings.

These are the products I used. Most of them are from my September Glam Bag or previous IPSY Glam Bags.

Okay, here is my very first attempt at Victory Rolls. I watched a Youtube tutorial and the girl made it look sooo easy. Clearly, she has had A LOT of practice. I, obviously, need to practice some more before I leave the house in this look. I kind of look like I'm wearing curlers!

I Won the Corset Giveaway! Help Me Decide Which One to Get.

My friend Michelle at Sparkle Me Pink just had a giveaway for a corset up to $30 from a company called Corset Chick. I was really excited about it and went crazy entering because I have been wanting a new one for a long time. Well, it paid off because I won! YAY, ME! Now I have it narrowed down to a few but haven't decided which one for sure. So, I thought I'd ask you all your opinions! :)

1:  I love the black and red! Also, the lace details on the bottom.

2: Everyone knows I am obsessed with animal print and this one is just tempting me.

3: I am liking the "under bust" style because of it's versatility. Can be worn with a tank top and bra OR alone behind closed doors.

4: Again with the under-bust. This purple is gorgeous!

5: Another under-bust in the same red and black print!

OR visit CORSET CHICK online and see what other choices they have.
