Ipsy Glam Bag September 2013

This month it seems like I waited FOREVER to receive my Glam Bag from Ipsy. They must have been toying with me because I was super anxious. Anyway, I finally got it and I'm super excited about it. This month's theme is "classic beauty" and my bag contained most of the signature items you think of for a  classic beauty look.

This is what I got for September:

tinted lip balm by Cailyn in the color Big Apple:

This is called "lip balm" but I assure you, it does not wear like any lip balm I have ever used. It is very pigmented and wears more like a stain or a lipstick. I have seen this color on many Ipsters and it looks great so I was really looking forward to this product, especially, since I got a gel eyeliner from this company a couple months back and I absolutely love it! Unfortunately, my skin requires a red with more of a blue base so this was just way too bright on me. I will be checking for other shades though. It can be purchased online and retails for $19.00

 

 

Butter London Nail Lacquer in the color LA MOSS:

I have not tried it out yet but I'm really excited to! The one I received in my Glam Bag is not full size. It is more like half size. My friend and I were just wondering what makes this nail polish worth the $15 it costs at Ulta. I guess Now I have the chance to find out. The LA MOSS color is kind of a blood red color that I find to be perfect for fall.

 

 

NYX Single Eye Shadow in the color Cryptonite:

I like the color I got of this eye shadow. It is a dark charcoal black with sparkly silver glitter particles. I used it to create a smokey eye look that I will show below and I think it is an alright shadow. Not my favorite but worth trying. It retails for $4.50. Be warned when clicking the link to the NYX website because it does NOT show up an accurate color. It shows up as a lighter grey. My photo is an accurate representation of what it looks like in person.

 

 

It's So Big Volumizing Mascara by Elizabeth Mott in the color BLACK: 

I am always on the hunt for great mascara! I got super anxious to try this one out. I was thrilled when I saw the brush- it's unique shape and the fact that it is not the rubbery plastic that seems to be the craze lately. I have only used it once so far but I loved it! It didn't clump at all, applied smoothly and gave me long, thick eyelashes. This is HUGE for me since my natural lashes leave a lot to be desired. This is a deluxe sample size and the full-size retails for $19.99.

 

 

 

Kohl Eyeliner Pencil by Starlooks in the color Obsidian:

Starlooks eyeliner pencils come in two finishes: satin and matte. Obsidian is black with a  matte finish. This is one creamy eye pencil! I was actually extremely impressed with how well this pencil glides. I didn't have any dragging or skipping while applying this eyeliner. Starlooks eye pencils retail for $12.00 and Ipsy sent full-size pencils in this month's Glam Bag.



 

 

Here are all my goodies with the bag. I am really into this royal blue color right now so I love this bag!
