Too busy to fuss with so many beauty products in the morning? Cosmetics companies have been listening! In step a couple products that are increasing in popularity and for good reason. BB Cream and her sister CC Cream are flooding the market and peaking interest while advertising their all-in-one appeal.
So what are they, what do they do and what's the difference?
BB Cream
Short for Beauty balm or Blemish Balm (depending who you ask), BB cream boasts being an all-in-one replacement for multiple beauty products. Though the benefits vary by brand, they can include primer, sunscreen, moisturizer, concealer, and foundation. I don't know about you, but one bottle that covers all five of those sounds pretty good to me! The downside to a BB Cream, though, is that they are usually only available in a limited number of shade variations. For example, one that I love (Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream with SPF 20 for Combination to Oily Skin) is only available in three shades, light/medium, medium/deep, and deep/dark. That doesn't leave much room for customization.
CC Cream
Short for Color Correcting Cream, CC cream is intended to help target issues such as uneven skin tone and redness. Just like BB creams, the benefits of CC creams vary by manufacturer as do the shade selections.
Now, How are they different?
This is where it gets a little confusing. Because every company offers different benefits in their creams, many BB and CC creams overlap and mix with each other in terms of what they do. The main difference, though sometimes slight or even unnoticeable altogether, CC creams should be more of a whipped or airy consistency and usually contain light reflecting particles that help disguise redness and blemishes. Overall, there is not much difference and, in my opinion, they are worth trying for their time saving factor.
