House Party: L'Oreal and Redbook Happy Hour

I was recently chosen by House Party to host a very cool Redbook and L'Oreal Happy Hour party. We took this opportunity to go all out and have a kick-off to Fall with a comfy, cozy, mom's night in pajama party. Tell a group of moms, "hey, come over, eat some food, take home some awesome swag, AND wear your pajamas!" Seriously, Can't get much better than that. Once I found out I was chosen for this party, I waited anxiously  patiently for the box to be delivered. I love that House Party sends tracking emails once they ship party packs. That way, I can stalk, I mean, WAIT FOR the delivery man. My party pack arrived the Monday before my party, giving me plenty of time to review it's contents, organize everything and put together swag bags. I was really excited for this party.

House Party sent us a really great party pack! It included tons of great L'Oreal products to sample and give away as well as some goodies from Redbook magazine.

Here are all our party goodies, decorations and yummy food. How cute are those bags!?

This party pack had some really fun items in it. I couldn't wait to try the Colour Riche® Extraordinaire Lipcolour but was disappointed when my party pack arrived with only one, really dark shade (703 Caramel Solo, a dark reddish brown almost the color of dried blood) instead of 15 different shades as the advertising showed. I would not have been disappointed in not getting 15 different shades had they sent one neutral shade or at least two or three choices with wearable options for various skin tones. I fear that more of them may have ended up in the garbage than on my friends lips, defeating the whole purpose of getting them into their hands to try and fall in love with the product. What's worse, is that HP had all of the shades available to send. Some hosts received two, three, or four different varieties, whereas, others received only one. The inconsistency was a bit frustrating to many party hosts.

The lipstick shade fiasco aside, this was an AMAZING party pack and a really fun girl's night. All of my friends had a blast and were excited to take home their L'Oreal goodies and wait for their first Redbook magazine to arrive in the mail.
